I really enjoyed first quarter in Spanish. Mrs. Carter is a great teacher and she makes it easy to learn Spanish. I learned how to use the imperfect this year. I also learned a ton of new vocabulary to describe vacations, trips, weather, and news. We also just started the present perfect. I’m excited to expand my vocabulary even more. I enjoy playing battleship with my partner and I really enjoy the people in my group.
In the beginning I made really good grades this quarter. I slipped a little towards the end but I am still trying hard to bring it all back up. I am hoping to get better grades on grammar quizzes because that is what seems to bring my grade down the most. I did not do very well with imperfect but I did very well with preterite and vocab these last 2 topics. Imperfect seems like a topic that I will always struggle with. I hope to continue on to Spanish 4 so I will need to practice my imperfect skills more.
Recently, Mrs. Carter has been using songs and raps to help us learn concepts. I feel like they work really well with helping me learn and I really enjoy them. I am pretty fluent in the language but I find that I have an easier time writing it than I do speaking the language on the spot. My pronunciations don’t sound very good but I am working on that. I am going to start practicing grammar concepts more often at home everyday. I also need to work on reading directions VERY carefully on tests because it hurt my grade on the last test by a lot. I am very glad the quizlets are required to do for a grade because it helps my grade SO much!
